I know from Essex Cholmondley's biography that something similar happened to Mason, when she had no choice but to be still. I believe God used that time to help her formulate her philosophy. Otherwise, she wouldn't have had the time or energy! My hope is that having to sit still for a while will result in something wonderful that would never have been possible as a frazzled school principal.
